Presents: Indie Selects Vol. 7 Featuring Summer Walker, Ricci Riera, Kamille, Afro B, Kojo Funds & More

Back at it again! This week might be my favorite volume of our Indie Selects playlist thus far. The submissions came through strong and the jury has deliberated. This week’s playlist features sounds from Summer Walker, Ricci Riera, Kamille, Afro B, Kojo Funds and more. Check out the backstory below!

Brent Faiyaz‘s “Gang Over Luv” made the cut this week. It’s not a new record per se, however it’s music video was just debuted, giving even more meaning to the Sonder Son standout. The visual, which features an old time aesthetic and loads of imagery, finds Brent on a mission through the desert on his motorbike. Watch the visual in full here.

Grammy-award winning producer Ricci Riera dropped his solo debut with his single “Wait” featuring singer/songwriter Che Ecru and CardoGotWings. Ricci Riera is widely known for his production with notable hip-hop acts including Kendrick Lamar, Drake, Travis Scott, Schoolboy Q and A$AP Rocky, and many others. He scored his first Grammy nomination as a solo producer with “U With Me?” on Drake’s Views.

I recently traveled across the pond to London, and while there a car ride led me to Kamille‘s music. She’s written records for the likes of Little Mix, James Arthur, and Jess Glynne. Diving into her own solo artist endeavors, her new song “Emotional,” which features Kranium and Louis Rei, finds the perfect mix between dancehall and R&B. The visual accompaniment finds Kamille in a topsy-turvy rustic warehouse. Watch it in full here.
