Lil Wayne launched his skateboard-inspired clothing line Trukfit earlier this year, and now he’s branching further into the fashion world with plans for a signature sneaker line. Although Wayne hasn’t announced the name of the shoe company, he tells VIBE that it is not Nike or Reebok. “I do have a shoe coming out soon but it won’t be Trukfit. I have a shoe with a well-known company. I just don’t want to say yet because I haven’t dotted the line yet, but it’s done.” The company will be announced sometime in the near future but there are already speculations; everyone knows Weezy loves his Supras.
With his next album I Am Not a Human Being 2 set for an early summer release, his prison memoir “Gone Til Novemeber” set to be published before the end of the year, and his new leap into the fashion industry, Lil Wayne is really following in Birdman’s footsteps to become a multi-platform mogul.
In celebration of Weezy’s entrance into the fashion industry, let’s reminisce over some of his more interesting style choices.
